KCIC Adds Six Whoosh Services for Pancasila Day Long Weekend Return Rush to Jakarta
KCIC has added six Whoosh high-speed train services on Monday (1 June 2026) to accommodate the surge in passengers during the peak of the long weekend return rush for Pancasila Day. The majority of Whoosh passengers today are travelling from Bandung to Jakarta. By 10:00 WIB, 78% of sold tickets were for Jakarta-bound journeys. Eva Chairunisa, KCIC’s General Manager of Corporate Secretary, stated that Monday morning ticket sales have surpassed 12,000, with passenger numbers expected to exceed 21,000 by the end of operations. To manage the passenger surge, KCIC added six services, increasing the daily Whoosh trips from 62 to 68. The additional services provide around 3,600 extra seats daily, bringing the total daily capacity to approximately 40,000 seats. The schedule expansion also extends operating hours for Bandung-to-Jakarta services. The last departure from Tegalluar Summarecon Station to Halim, previously available until 21:05 WIB, has been extended to 21:20 WIB. Additional Whoosh services from Bandung to Jakarta include: Tegalluar Summarecon to Halim, Padalarang to Halim, and Bandung-Padalarang Feeder Train. ‘We urge passengers to utilise the additional Whoosh services, check seat availability, and book tickets online promptly to secure suitable travel schedules,’ Eva said.
