KCIC: 53,000 Whoosh Tickets Sold During Extended Holiday Period
Jakarta, VIVA – General Manager Corporate Secretary of PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC), Eva Chairunisa, stated that 53,000 tickets for the Whoosh high-speed train have been sold during the extended Ascension of Jesus Christ holiday period, from 13th to 17th May 2026.
She added that the number of passengers is expected to continue to increase in the coming days, until the end of the long weekend.
“The public is advised to purchase tickets online before arriving at the station,” said Eva, on Friday, 15th May 2026.
She revealed that the increase in passengers began on 13th May 2026. On that date, the afternoon and evening departure schedules, after people finished work, became a popular choice for passengers, with 95 per cent occupancy on the Whoosh trains in operation.
“Passengers are mainly people taking advantage of the long holiday to travel, especially from Jakarta to Bandung and its surroundings for holidays,” said Eva.
Furthermore, Eva said that this increase is also supported by the gradual addition of Whoosh journeys. From 14 journeys, to 28 journeys, 36 journeys, 40 journeys, 48 journeys, and even up to 62 journeys per day.
“The short travel time, comfort, and high punctuality are added values that make people choose Whoosh,” said Eva.
She also expressed her appreciation for the high level of public trust in the Whoosh service. This record is clear evidence of the growing public interest in Whoosh, as a modern, fast, and comfortable mode of transport.

She added that passengers should also consider travel time and plan their route to Halim Station, given the potential increase in traffic volume on the roads leading up to the long holiday period.
“Make sure to arrive at the station at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time so that the departure process remains comfortable and you do not miss your Whoosh journey,” she said. (Ant)
