KCIC: 53,000 Whoosh Tickets Sold During Extended Holiday Period
Bandung (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) stated that 53,000 tickets for the Whoosh high-speed train have been sold during the extended Ascension of Jesus Christ holiday period from 13-17 May 2026.
“The number of passengers will continue to increase in the coming days until the end of the long weekend. The public is advised to purchase tickets online before arriving at the station,” said KCIC Corporate Secretary General Manager Eva Chairunisa in Bandung, West Java, on Friday.
Eva revealed that the increase in passengers began on 13 May 2026. On that date, the afternoon and evening departure schedules after work became a favourite among passengers, with 95 percent occupancy on the Whoosh trains in operation.
“Passengers are mainly people who are taking advantage of the long holiday to travel, especially from Jakarta to Bandung and its surroundings for holidays.”
Furthermore, Eva said that this increase was also supported by the gradual addition of Whoosh trips. From 14 trips, to 28 trips, 36 trips, 40 trips, 48 trips to 62 trips per day.
“The short, comfortable journey, and high punctuality are added values that make people choose Whoosh,” she said.
Eva expressed her appreciation for the high level of public trust in the Whoosh service. This record is clear evidence of the increasing public interest in Whoosh as a modern, fast and comfortable mode of transportation.

She added that passengers also need to consider travel time and plan their route to Halim Station, given the potential increase in traffic volume on the roads leading up to the long holiday period.
“Make sure to arrive at the station at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time so that the departure process remains comfortable and you don’t miss your Whoosh trip,” Eva concluded.
