Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) recorded 121,000 Whoosh tickets sold during the 2026 Lebaran transport period.

General Manager of Corporate Secretary at PT KCIC, Eva Chairunisa, stated that the tickets had been sold from 13 to 30 March 2026.

“So, it starts from the 13th until the 30th (March). Now, looking at it up to this point, the tickets sold from the 13th to the 30th are already around 121,000 tickets,” she told ANTARA when met at KCIC Halim Station, East Jakarta, on Wednesday.

Eva also explained that ticket sales are predicted to continue rising because the sales period remains open to maximise the Lebaran transport period.

“Now, but this number will definitely keep increasing, because ticket sales are still ongoing,” she said.

That prediction, she added, is based on the characteristics of Whoosh passengers who book tickets close to the Lebaran date, namely on H-1.

“The characteristics of Whoosh passengers are that they buy tickets at the same time as the departure day. So, usually on the departure day, there will be a sharp increase, and looking at previous years, the highest passenger surge usually happens on H-1 of Lebaran,” she revealed.

The very short departure and return times, Eva stated, allow the public to plan their trips efficiently, and this characteristic is assumed to cause a very significant passenger surge.

“So, from the first day of Lebaran until the holiday ends, there will be a very significant passenger surge. Why? Because looking at the characteristics of the Whoosh train, the journey is only 30 to 40 minutes, different from long-distance trains,” Eva said.
