KCI Evacuates Passengers Following Train Accident in East Bekasi
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI)/KAI Commuter states that it is still in the process of evacuating passengers and train carriages following the train accident between the Commuter Line and a long-distance train in the East Bekasi area, West Java. “So, this is still in the handling process at East Bekasi Station for the KA accident between the Commuter Line and the long-distance train,” said VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter Karina Amanda when confirmed by ANTARA in Jakarta on Monday evening. Regarding any casualties in the incident, Karina mentioned that her side is still waiting for the evacuation process to be completed before providing further information. “Regarding whether there are casualties or not, we are still waiting for the evacuation process to be completed first. All handling is being carried out,” she said. Meanwhile, Commuter Line operations on the Bekasi route continue on a limited basis. Train services are only provided up to Bekasi Station and have not yet reached Cikarang Station. KAI Commuter states that more detailed information, including the time of the incident and other operational impacts, will be conveyed through an official release in the near future. “Well, for the exact time (of the accident), we will convey it through an official release,” she said.
