KBPP Polri Chairman Appreciates DPR's Steps to Maintain National Stability

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The General Chairman of the Police Putra-Putri Family (KBPP) Polri, AH. Bimo Suryono, has expressed appreciation for the steps taken by Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, who initiated coordination between ministries, agencies, and the banking sector to maintain national economic stability. He stated that Dasco strengthened coordination between the Minister of Finance, the Governor of Bank Indonesia, the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS), and the ranks of Bank Himbara in discussing strategic measures to safeguard national economic stability amidst the recent political, economic, and social dynamics. “A healthy democracy must not lose its ethics, let alone sacrifice the national stability that we are building together,” Bimo said in a statement received in Jakarta on Monday. He explained that this synergy demonstrates that maintaining the national economy is not solely the government’s responsibility, but also that of all state institutions and financial sector stakeholders. According to him, the results of this coordination are already becoming visible. Based on various economic indicators published by the government, the rupiah exchange rate has shown strengthening against the US dollar, the capital market is moving positively again, and the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) has experienced gains. “This work is not yet finished; economic stability must be continuously maintained through strong coordination between the government, the DPR RI, Bank Indonesia, OJK, LPS, Bank Himbara, the business community, and all elements of society,” he said. On the other hand, Bimo highlighted that expressing opinions in public is a constitutional right guaranteed by Article 28E paragraph (3) of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and regulated in Law Number 9 of 1998 concerning Freedom to Express Opinions in Public. “However, it must be understood that this right is not without limits,” he stated.
