KBMKB XXXV in Somakaton Village, Klaten, Targets Physical and Non-Physical Development

The 35th Karya Bakti Mandiri Klaten Bersinar (KBMKB XXXV), a collaborative activity between the regional government and Kodim 0723/Klaten in Somakaton Village, Karangnongko District, was opened by Regent Hamenang Wajar Ismoyo on Tuesday (7/7). The opening of KBMKB XXXV/2026 was conducted with a ceremony held at the SMA Negeri 1 Karangnongko field. The ceremony was led directly by the Klaten Regent and attended by ranks of the TNI, Polri, and regional apparatus. The opening ceremony was also attended by members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), Acting Regional Secretary Jaka Purwanto, heads of Regional Apparatus Organisations (OPD), religious leaders, community figures, and Somokaton Village officials. The KBMKB XXXV programme in Somokaton Village targets both physical and non-physical activities. Physical activities include the concreting of a 313-metre road, construction of a 435-metre retaining wall, and the renovation of uninhabitable houses for those in need. Meanwhile, non-physical targets include counselling activities on national awareness, state defence, and population administration and civil registration (adminduk) services. The KBMKB in Somokaton Village will conclude on 7 August 2026. This integrated development programme prioritises synergy between the Klaten Regency Government, Kodim 0723/Klaten, the village government, and all elements of society in an effort to accelerate regional development. In his address, the Klaten Regent stated that the KBMKB programme is a tangible form of cross-sector collaboration that has been the main strength in accelerating equitable development in Klaten Regency. ‘So, the KBMKB programme is not only oriented towards infrastructure development, but also builds a spirit of togetherness, strengthens unity, and improves the quality of human resources,’ he explained. The overarching theme of Klaten Regency’s development is a regency that is advanced, prosperous, and sustainable. To realise this vision and mission, collaboration from all elements of the nation is required. ‘Through the spirit of togetherness, I am optimistic that the people of Somokaton Village will progress, prosper, and can become an example of a village that develops with the strength of community participation,’ said Regent Hamenang Wajar Ismoyo. After the ceremony, the Commander of Kodim 0723/Klaten, represented by Chief of Staff Major Inf Ismail Syahuruddin, conveyed that KBMKB is one of the strategic programmes that provides tangible benefits to rural communities. ‘The KBMKB programme greatly assists the acceleration of development in rural areas. Through this activity, infrastructure development can open better access and facilitate community mobility,’ he explained.
