The Forum Komunikasi Kelompok Bimbingan Ibadah Haji dan Umrah (FK KBIHU) views the health manasik programme introduced by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) as a vital component in preparing prospective Hajj pilgrims. Chairman Manarul Hidayat supported the initiative, stating that health is a fundamental aspect of fulfilling the istitha’ah (capability) requirement for performing the pilgrimage. “Istitha’ah is not solely about finances, but also about one’s health condition. Therefore, health is a principal matter in the Hajj,” Manarul Hidayat said on Friday (3/7/2026). He believes that strengthening health guidance prior to departure will enhance the overall quality of the Hajj operation. He expressed hope that in the coming season, more pilgrims would depart in prime physical condition, enabling them to complete the rituals independently. “If their health is good, the guides can focus more on their duties as mentors, rather than acting as physical assistants,” Manarul added. He also assessed the government’s efforts to accelerate the Hajj waiting list in certain regions as a positive step towards reducing the proportion of elderly pilgrims.
