KBI Strengthens Promotion of Is-Ware Next Gen System to Realise Indonesia's Food Self-Sufficiency
PT Kliring Berjangka Indonesia (PT KBI), a member of the Danareksa BUMN Holding, continues to strengthen its role in supporting national food self-sufficiency through enhanced utilisation of the Warehouse Receipts System (SRG).
Ahead of the 2026 harvest season, PT KBI is targeting promotion of the Warehouse Receipts Registration System, Is-Ware Next Gen, to more than 160 institutions and organisations as part of the company’s commitment to its mandate as a pioneer of the Warehouse Receipts Registration Centre (PusReg RG).
This effort is also aligned with the company’s annual programme, Ramadan Bergerak, which this year carries the theme ‘Safeguarding Trust, Channelling Blessings’. Through this theme, PT KBI emphasises that safeguarding trust is realised not only through social activities during Ramadan, but also through improved service quality, including system strengthening that provides tangible benefits to society, particularly commodity and food sector business operators.
As the Warehouse Receipts Registration Centre, PT KBI continuously promotes Is-Ware Next Gen to ensure that warehouse receipt registration processes operate transparently, securely, and accountably. This promotion becomes increasingly relevant ahead of the harvest season, when availability of orderly commodity storage and recording facilities can help farmers manage their harvest more optimally.
March through April 2026 is projected to be the peak rice harvest season in several Indonesian regions. Based on projections from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), potential gabah production is estimated to reach 17.65 million tons of Dried Milled Grain (GKG) or approximately 10.16 million tons of rice. This positive production trend is driven by increased planting area, with harvests concentrated in Java, Sumatra, Sulawesi, and Kalimantan regions.
During harvest seasons that typically experience falling gabah prices, the SRG becomes an important alternative solution for farmers to delay sales until prices stabilise. Through the system managed by PT KBI, commodities stored in warehouses are officially recorded and can be utilised as a financing instrument whilst helping maintain stable supplies of food commodities.
Beyond serving as a financing instrument for delayed sales, warehouse receipts can also be utilised for stock management in commodity export activities, such as seaweed. PT KBI continues to support regulators and relevant ministries in realising government programmes such as export-capable villages and small and medium enterprises moving up the value chain.
To date, Is-Ware Next Gen has delivered benefits across 10 commodity-producing regions in Indonesia including Aceh, Bengkulu, Lampung, West Java through East Java, South Kalimantan, West Nusa Tenggara, and South Sulawesi, with beneficiaries encompassing farmers, farm labourers, fishers, business operators, and warehouse managers.
As of February 2026, PT KBI recorded total commodities reaching 502 tons in preparation ahead of the peak harvest season estimated to occur in March–April 2026.
Saidu Solihin, Director of Business Development and Operations at PT KBI, stated that strengthening promotion of Is-Ware Next Gen is part of the company’s efforts to improve service whilst expanding the benefits of SRG for society.
“Through the Ramadan Bergerak programme, we wish to demonstrate that safeguarding trust is realised not only through operational performance, but also through improved service and education to stakeholders. Promotion of Is-Ware Next Gen is part of PT KBI’s efforts to ensure that the warehouse receipt registration system can be optimally utilised by society,” he said.
Beyond promotion activities, PT KBI is also implementing a series of Ramadan Bergerak 2026 programmes through collaboration with Cariustadz.id on Ramadan content as well as activities distributing pre-dawn meals to communities surrounding the Danareksa Tower as an expression of the company’s social concern.
PT KBI and Danareksa BUMN Holding will also participate in the BUMN Mudik Bersama programme scheduled for 17 March 2026. A total of 14 buses will be despatched to help communities celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their families in their hometowns with safe and comfortable travel.
Through the Ramadan Bergerak 2026 programme, PT KBI is committed to continuing to maintain stakeholder trust whilst providing tangible contribution to society. In line with the theme ‘Safeguarding Trust, Channelling Blessings,’ PT KBI continues to work towards delivering transparent, reliable services that provide sustainable benefits to the national economy.
