PT Bank KB Bukopin Syariah (KB Bank Syariah) has distributed benefits from its Cash Waqf Linked Deposit (CWLD) Series 004 to support salary subsidies for teachers at TK/KB Aisyiyah and PKBM Surya Bangsa. The distribution of productive waqf benefits was also marked by the construction of a school building for KB/TK Aisyiyah Pondok Cabe Ilir.

KB Bank Syariah Business Director Santi Aji Yuniasih said CWLD can serve as a sharia social finance instrument that connects banking activities with community needs, particularly in education.

“Through CWLD Series 004, we aim to deliver tangible and sustainable benefits to the community, especially in the education sector. Support for teacher welfare and the construction of educational facilities is expected to be part of a collective effort to improve the quality of human resources and prepare a better generation in the future,” Santi said on Tuesday (18/6/2026).

Under the CWLD scheme, waqf funds are placed in sharia banking instruments, while the benefits from their management are channelled to designated social programmes. The principal funds continue to be managed in accordance with sharia principles and prevailing regulations.

The benefits of CWLD Series 004 in this programme are used to support salary subsidies for teachers at TK/KB Aisyiyah and PKBM Surya Bangsa. The scheme also represents a form of productive waqf utilisation to support the welfare of educators.

The series of activities was also marked by the groundbreaking for the construction of the KB/TK Aisyiyah Pondok Cabe Ilir school building. The construction is intended to increase the capacity and quality of teaching and learning activities and to provide more adequate facilities for teachers and students.

The programme demonstrates the use of productive waqf instruments to support social needs in education. Collaboration between sharia banking, waqf institutions, and educational institutions is one effort to expand the benefits of sharia finance in society.

Going forward, KB Bank Syariah stated it will continue to develop sharia financial products and services, including the use of productive waqf instruments to support sustainable social programmes.
