Jakarta — PT Bank KB Indonesia Tbk (BBKP) has provided a financing facility worth Rp500 billion to PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM).

This financing will support PNM’s economic empowerment programme, including the Mekaar initiative (Membina Ekonomi Keluarga Sejahtera, or Fostering Prosperous Family Economics), which has reached millions of underprivileged women across various regions of Indonesia.

KB Bank Director Widodo Suryadi stated that the collaboration with PNM not only expands financing access but also fulfils the bank’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitment by promoting inclusive economic growth and community empowerment at the grassroots level.

“PNM plays an important role in reaching population groups that have had limited access to formal financial services. By supporting these programmes, we can ensure that financing is channelled to productive economic activities that deliver tangible benefits for community welfare, particularly for female entrepreneurs who play a significant role in supporting family and community economies,” Widodo said on Monday (16 March 2026).

As a micro-financing institution focused on empowering underprivileged communities, PNM operates an extensive network and various financing and mentoring programmes for micro-business operators, including through the Mekaar programme and ULaMM (Unit Layanan Modal Mikro, or Micro Capital Service Unit). To date, the Mekaar programme has reached more than 22.9 million underprivileged women across 60,250 villages throughout Indonesia.

Going forward, KB Bank and PNM will continue to explore collaboration opportunities to expand financing access, improve financial literacy, and promote broader economic empowerment for communities.
