Jakarta – Simple habits like saving and understanding the difference between needs and wants can help children build a strong foundation for making wiser financial decisions in the future. Recognising that managing money wisely is a life skill that needs to be introduced early, PT Bank KB Indonesia Tbk (KB Bank) has held a financial literacy programme for hundreds of students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Raudhatul Azhar. Komala Sari, Corporate Communication and Government Affairs Division Head of KB Bank, stated that this initiative is part of the company’s commitment to improving public financial literacy. This commitment is supported by the results of the 2025 National Survey on Financial Literacy and Inclusion (SNLIK), which showed that Indonesia’s financial literacy index has increased to 66.46% compared to the previous year. “We want to help children understand that managing money is not just about saving, but also about making wise, disciplined, and responsible decisions,” Komala said. The “Belajar Finansial Bareng KB Bank” (Learning Finance with KB Bank) programme was attended by 291 students from grades 1 to 6 and guided by more than 15 KB Bank employee volunteers. Through interactive sessions, the volunteers introduced basic financial concepts, including the importance of saving, distinguishing between needs and wants, and building prudent saving habits for daily life. “We introduced a simple yet easy-to-understand concept of three money management pillars: saving, spending, and sharing. Through these three pillars, children learn that some money can be set aside for the future, some for current needs, and some to be shared with others,” she added. As part of its commitment to supporting education, KB Bank also handed over facilities and infrastructure assistance to MI Raudhatul Azhar. The support is expected to create a more comfortable learning environment and support the development of students’ talents through extracurricular activities.
