Bogor City (ANTARA) - The Katulampa Dam in Bogor City, West Java, was recorded as remaining in normal condition or Alert 4, even though the area was hit by heavy rain on Wednesday afternoon until evening. The Katulampa Dam operator, Andi Sudirman, stated that the water level (WLL) of the Ciliwung River was monitored as stable at around 50–60 centimetres throughout the observation. Based on data from the officers, at 4:00 p.m. WIB, the WLL was recorded at 50 cm with Alert 4 status while it was raining. The condition then rose to 60 cm at 5:00 p.m. WIB with a water discharge of 47,659 litres per second. Entering 6:00 p.m. WIB, the water level remained at 60 cm with drizzling weather and the status still Alert 4. Then at 7:00 p.m. WIB, the WLL dropped back to 50 cm with a water discharge of 35,876 litres per second, while the rain turned into light drizzle. “Praise be to God, even though the rain was quite heavy, the condition at the Katulampa Dam is still safe at Alert 4 level,” said Andi Sudirman. In addition, the condition of the intake gate for the main Katulampa channel was also monitored as stable with a water level of 30 cm and a discharge of around 2,248 litres per second throughout the monitoring. The data was compiled by officers from the Ciliwung Executive Unit at the Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) for the Management of Water Resources in the Ciliwung-Cisadane River Region, West Java Province Water Resources Service.
