KATI's bill comes late

KATI's bill comes late

From Media Indonesia

On March 28, I went to pay my water bill at the post office. The February invoice, which had to be settled by March 25 at the latest, was delivered to my home on March 27.

I was fined Rp 5,000. This was ridiculous because the amount of the bill was only Rp 11,565. The fine was 43.23 percent of the amount due.

I objected to paying the fine because the delay in payment was due to the late delivery of the bill. When I explained this to the post office employee, he showed understanding and said that there were many others who experienced the same.

However, the post office can do nothing because it only receives payments and it has no control on when the bills are delivered. I would have to go through some administrative hassle if I wanted to iron out things.

It must be noted that when billing was not done by PT Kekar Thames Airindo (KATI), the bills were delivered in time to customers. We used to pay our water bills in an orderly and timely fashion.

Now, the late bill deliveries makes it difficult for us to fulfill our obligation. Other people have written in the media about this but PT KATI does not seem to respond.

The question is why was the smooth billing system of the City Water Company handed over to a company that is unable to give the same good service and does not understand the meaning of customer satisfaction?
