Kasanga Festival 2026 Keeps Up the Pace Despite Rain, Carnival Concept Becomes the Highlight
Rain is not a reason to stop. Kasanga Festival 2026 ensures the parade proceeds with a new concept: a carnival procession that moves from the starting point to the finish, rather than being centered at a single location. “We do not hate water. So whatever God’s grace is given to us, we accept it with open hearts. Thus together with Yowana friends who progressed to the round of 16, we are all committed to performing,” said Kasanga Festival 2026 Committee Chair Yogi Pramana at a press conference at Graha Yowana Suci, on Wednesday (4/3/2026).
Weather forecasts have been prepared for a month. The committee coordinated with BMKG, prepared facilities and infrastructure, and conducted matur piuning. The parade starts at 17:00 WITA from in front of Jaya Sabha and ends at Jalan Udayana near Bank BRI. Participants perform along the route, with judges stationed at several posts.
“Nurses will be at posts to assess participants from start to finish. Our hope is that spectators can sit quietly and neatly without focusing at Catur Muka,” he added.
Along the route, barricades have been placed to give space to participants.
The Kasanga Festival 2026 will be held 6-8 March 2026 with a focus on preserving Balinese tradition. Sekaa Teruna Teruni (STT) is involved to present traditional cuisine. Modern music is omitted and replaced with gamelan.
The Denpasar City Cultural Service prepared prizes for the Ogoh-Ogoh Competition: 1st Rp 50 million, 2nd Rp 40 million, 3rd Rp 30 million, 1st Harapan Rp 20 million, 2nd Harapan Rp 15 million, 3rd Harapan Rp 10 million.
For Ogoh-Ogoh Mini Mesin, 1st Rp 10 million, 2nd Rp 8 million, 3rd Rp 6 million. Ogoh-Ogoh Mini Non-Mesin: 1st Rp 8 million, 2nd Rp 6 million, 3rd Rp 4 million. Sketch Contest: 1st Rp 5 million, 2nd Rp 4 million, 3rd Rp 3 million.
Deputy Mayor of Denpasar I Kadek Agus Arya Wibawa stressed the support of the Denpasar City Government.
“We in the City Government highly support the activities organized by Yowana Denpasar for the Kasanga Festival. The Kasanga Festival will run as in the past for three days. After the ogoh-ogoh parade finishes, the 16 finalists will enter the Badung Square area, where they will be exhibited for three days. So spectators who did not manage to see the parade can still watch,” he said.
Regarding waste, the handling pattern will refer to Denpasar Festival 2025 and D’Tik Festival 2026.
“For any major event, the City Government always emphasises how to manage waste to complete the event. For example the Denpasar Festival and D’Tik Festival; in Kasanga Festival we will use the same pattern,” Arya Wibawa explained.
