Karina Moudy Highlights Cultural Content in Film Sekawan Limo 2

Jakarta – Actress Karina Moudy said that cultural content gives the film Sekawan Limo 2: Gunung Klawih, directed by Bayu Skak, extraordinary appeal. At a press conference on the film’s screening in South Jakarta on Wednesday, Karina described the use of Javanese in almost every scene as the film’s strength. ‘I am Miss Indonesia Tourism, so culture is closely linked to me. This film showcases Indonesian culture by being one of the films that is entirely in Javanese, which makes its appeal extraordinary,’ Karina said, noting that it marks her debut as a film lead in Sekawan Limo 2: Gunung Klawih.

Karina hopes local languages and cultures will be more prominently featured in future film projects. The portrayal of language, tradition, and local culture in the film is expected to spur the development of the creative industry and regional tourism. ‘Hopefully, like Mas Bayu’s aspiration, this can advance Indonesian tourism, from the regions for Indonesia, from Indonesia to the world,’ Karina said. ‘Nothing can be achieved instantly. For something instant will ultimately spell disaster. So enjoy the process,’ she added. ‘Here I was really reminded. During casting and filming, it felt like I received what has brought me to where I am today.’
