Karet Station Closes, Passengers Face Long Walk to BNI City

The closure of Karet Station is now being felt by passengers who have long relied on the station as a key boarding and alighting point. Since Tuesday (1/9/2026), Commuter Line users have been redirected to Sudirman Baru Station, also known as BNI City.

Observations show that during evening rush hour, passengers from the Karet Station area can reach BNI City via a pedestrian walkway located alongside the river. This access route spans approximately 150 metres from the former Karet Station entrance.

The closure of Karet Station is part of an ongoing integration process with the Sudirman Baru/BNI City Station. KAI Commuter has diverted all Commuter Line passenger services from Karet Station to BNI City effective from 1 September 2026.

Moving forward, access between the two stations is intended to become increasingly integrated through the redevelopment of the area and the pedestrian walkways currently being utilised by passengers.

Previously, 264 Commuter Line trips on the Kampung Bandan/Cikarang line passed through both Karet and BNI City stations daily.
