Karawang Regency conducts ramp check on pilgrim transport fleet
Karawang (ANTARA) - The Karawang Regency Government in West Java has conducted a ramp check on several buses and trucks that will be used as transportation for prospective Hajj pilgrims from Karawang. “The ramp check activity was carried out at one of the bus companies in the Karawang Timur Subdistrict area,” said the Head of Public Welfare at the Karawang Regional Secretariat, Aep Saepudin, in Karawang on Wednesday. A ramp check is a comprehensive technical inspection of the physical condition and administration of buses by relevant officials to ensure roadworthiness, safety, and security for passengers. He stated that this step is an effort by the local government to provide the best service for prospective Hajj pilgrims in 2026. A total of 12 buses will be used to transport Hajj pilgrims from Karawang to Soekarno-Hatta Airport, while two trucks will be used to carry the pilgrims’ luggage. “We hope that with this ramp check, we select highly representative vehicles that maintain the safety and security of Karawang’s Hajj pilgrims in 2026,” he said. Meanwhile, for this year’s Hajj season, the number of prospective Hajj pilgrims from Karawang to be sent to the Holy Land this year reaches 1,783 people, divided into five flight groups (kloter).
