Karawang Police Tighten Patrols in Crime-Prone Areas Including Motorcycle Theft and Mugging
BANDUNG — Karawang Police Force has intensified patrols in crime-prone areas, particularly regarding violent theft (curas), aggravated theft (curat), and motorcycle theft (curanmor) on 1 June 2026. They aim to anticipate robbery and other crimes while maintaining public safety.
The Presisi Pioneer Patrols conducted by the Samapta Unit target residential areas, community activity centres, petrol stations, convenience stores, and commercial zones. The patrols aim to ensure public safety during activities, especially at night.
Karawang Police Chief AKBP Fiki N. Ardiansyah, via Humas Officer Ipda Cep Wildan, stated that the patrols are part of creating a sense of security among the public. The ongoing ‘Jaran Lodaya’ operation focuses on eradicating motorcycle theft and other street crimes that disturb the community.
‘The Jaran Lodaya operation is not only focused on apprehending perpetrators but also reinforced with preventive measures such as regular patrols, community visits, and public education on crime prevention,’ he said.
Meanwhile, Turjawali Unit Head of Karawang Police Force Ipda Inta said the Presisi Pioneer Patrols are conducted daily with high mobility, targeting locations with high crime potential.
He added that police presence during peak crime hours is expected to deter criminal activity while providing public reassurance. ‘Our patrols are conducted daily, covering crime-prone areas, residential zones, main routes, economic centres, and locations likely targeted by curas, curat, and curanmor perpetrators,’ he said.
Police presence is expected to be felt by the public and deter potential criminals. Additionally, authorities are urging residents, housing security personnel, petrol station staff, and convenience store employees to remain vigilant, ensure CCTV systems are operational, and utilise the Karawang Police Call Centre 110 and WhatsApp reporting service.
Meanwhile, resident Deden (40), from Bendasari Village, thanked Karawang Police for their patrols in the area. He said police presence during early hours provides a sense of security for the community and strengthens residents’ commitment to safeguarding their neighbourhood.
‘We are grateful to Karawang Police for their regular patrols in our area,’ he said.
