The West Jakarta Metro Police raided a karaoke establishment in the Kedoya Utara area of Kebon Jeruk, following allegations of child prostitution.

The Head of the Child, Women, and Victim Protection Unit (Satres PPA-PPO) of the West Jakarta Metro Police, Commissioner Nunu Suparmi, stated that a total of five individuals have been named as suspects.

She detailed that the five suspects are EW, the director of the karaoke; SY, the cashier; RM, RH, and NN, who are alleged pimps.

“(The initials) EW is the director, SY is the cashier, RM, also known as Mami Maya, RH, also known as Mami Sonia, and NN, also known as Mami Nina,” she explained to reporters in Jakarta on Friday (May 15th).

She explained that the raid was conducted on Saturday (May 9th) in the early hours, around 1:00 AM. During the operation, Nunu said that investigators secured a dozen women, two of whom were minors.

“There were 19 victims, two of whom were minors with the initials S (17) and F (16),” she said.

In addition, the Satres PPA and PPO team of the West Jakarta Metro Police also arrested four women as pimps who employed the victims to serve a number of male customers under the guise of karaoke.

“They recruited, sheltered, and exploited. They were employed to serve male customers. Yes, it was prostitution,” she concluded.
