Karangasem’s regional own-source revenue (PAD) shows a positive trend in the first quarter of 2026. From a total target of Rp 511 billion, Rp 131.5 billion has been achieved so far, or 25.7 percent.

The Head of the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) of Karangasem, I Nyoman Siki Ngurah, stated that the PAD achievement in the first quarter is considered very good. This is because it is still the low season or a period of low tourist visits.

“Achieving more than 25 percent of the target over three months despite it being low season is quite good. It means a quarter of this year’s total target has already been reached,” said Siki Ngurah on Monday (13/4/2026).

He detailed that Karangasem’s current PAD achievement is still dominated by taxes on Non-Metallic Minerals and Rocks (MBLB), which have reached Rp 21.2 billion from a target of Rp 106 billion, or about 20 percent achievement. The MBLB tax has indeed been the highest contributor to PAD for Karangasem.

Besides MBLB, taxes on Certain Goods and Services (BJT) also show positive figures, especially from hotel and restaurant taxes. “For hotel taxes, Rp 16.5 billion has been realised from a total target of Rp 73 billion, or about 22 percent. For restaurants, Rp 8.8 billion has been realised from a total target of Rp 35 billion, or 25 percent,” said Siki Ngurah.

According to him, this PAD achievement is inseparable from the innovation of the tax gateway programme currently implemented by the Karangasem Regency Government. The programme is considered capable of improving revenue accuracy while curbing potential tax leakages.

“We hope that Karangasem’s PAD continues to show a positive trend so that it can achieve or even exceed the annual target,” said Siki Ngurah.
