Karangasem Student Selected for National Flag-Hoisting Squad, Bupati Advises Humility

Ni Komang Gayatri Dinda Gita Arsani has been selected to represent Bali Province as a member of the national Heritage Flag Hoisting Troop (Paskibraka) for 2026. The student from SMA Negeri 1 Kubu, Karangasem, will serve at the 81st Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia commemoration ceremony in Jakarta. Bupati of Karangasem I Gusti Putu Parwata (Gus Par) officially sent off Gayatri before she attends the national training and education centre. Gus Par advised her to remain humble and maintain her physical and mental condition throughout the training. “The journey is not over yet. Stay humble, take care of your health, be disciplined in training, and do not let your concentration be disturbed by outside matters, including excessive exposure on social media,” Gus Par said during the send-off in his office on Tuesday (30/6/2026). Gus Par stated that a national Paskibraka member’s duty extends beyond the flag-hoisting ceremony. He noted that she also represents the region she comes from. He expressed hope that Gayatri would carry out this mandate well. On the occasion, Gus Par expressed pride in Gayatri’s success in passing the selection process to the national level. According to him, this achievement is the result of hard work, discipline, and commitment demonstrated throughout all stages of the selection. “This achievement not only makes her family and school proud but also brings pride to the people of Karangasem. May it serve as motivation for other young people to continue achieving,” he concluded. Gayatri herself is a student born on 21 September 2009, from Tianyar Village, Kubu, Karangasem. Besides Gayatri, another Paskibraka National member from Bali is I Made Dwi Sathya Kurniawan. Made Dwi is a student at SMAN 1 Kuta Utara, born on 8 January 2010.
