The Karangasem Regency Government targets regional revenue in the 2026 Fiscal Year Revised Budget Draft at Rp 1.626 trillion. This figure represents a decrease of approximately Rp 11.58 billion, or 0.71 per cent, compared to the original 2026 budget, which stood at Rp 1.638 trillion.

This was revealed during a plenary session of the Karangasem Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) regarding the Draft Regional Regulation on the 202MB Revised Budget for the 2026 Fiscal Year. The Karangasem Regency Government also projects that the 2026 Revised Budget will experience a deficit of approximately Rp 163.96 billion.

The Regent of Karangasem, I Gusti Putu Parwata (Gus Par), explained that the budget revision is being conducted by observing the progress of budget realisation during the current year. Additionally, the government is adjusting budget policy assumptions to align with regional conditions and requirements.

“We have prepared this budget revision based on the progress of budget implementation in the current year, including adjustments to revenue and regional expenditure needs. Our priority is to ensure that all budget policies remain directed and accountable,” said Gus Par during the plenary session, which was chaired by the Speaker of the Karangasem DPRD, I Wayan Suastika, on Friday (18/09/2026).

Gus Par detailed that regional revenue in the 2026 Revised Budget is planned at Rp 1.626 trillion. This figure is a decrease of about Rp 11.58 billion, or 0.71 per cent, compared to the original 2026 budget of Rp 1.638 trillion.

Meanwhile, regional expenditure is actually expected to increase. In the 2026 Revised Budget, regional expenditure is planned at Rp 1.790 trillion, an increase of approximately Rp 31.57 billion, or 1.79 per cent, from the original budget of Rp 1.759 trillion.

The difference between revenue and expenditure results in a deficit of Rp 163.97 billion. To cover this deficit, the Karangasem Regency Government will rely on financing receipts sourced from the previous year’s remaining budget surplus (Silpa) amounting to Rp 165.47 billion.

“We want this budget revision to truly address the needs of the region and the community. Every rupiah allocated must have a clear direction, provide benefits, and be accountable,” said Gus Par.

Gus Par expressed hope that the discussion of the 2026 Revised Budget Draft Regulation with the DPRD would proceed smoothly. He encouraged the Draft Regulation to be established as a Regional Regulation according to schedule, serving as the basis for implementing government programmes until the end of the fiscal year.
