A number of students accepted into the Integrated People’s School 3 in Karangasem Regency, Bali, have expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to continue their education, having previously nearly given up due to their families’ economic limitations. One such student, Ni Luh Sintya, a 12-year-old from Besakih Village, said she almost did not proceed to junior high school because her parents struggled to afford the fees. After coordination between the school and her parents, she was proposed as a student and successfully enrolled. Sintya admitted she was very happy and grateful to be able to continue her studies, even up to the senior high school level, despite having to live away from her parents. She is ready to adapt in order to achieve her dreams and hopes to make new friends. Her parents, who work as daily labourers and still have to fund the education of her two younger siblings, fully support her decision.

A similar sentiment was shared by I Ketut Deva Yasa from Buleleng. He was delighted to be accepted at the school, citing a desire for greater independence and the fact that the education is completely free, with clothing, food, drink, and accommodation all provided. Deva explained that his father works as a masseur and his mother is unemployed, making it unlikely he could have continued to junior high school without this opportunity. The students appeared enthusiastic as they received their new uniforms, ready to begin the academic year. The Integrated People’s School 3 in Karangasem has accepted 163 students for the 2026/2027 academic year, comprising 78 senior high, 76 junior high, and 9 primary school students from various regencies across Bali.
