Karangasem Extends Contracts of 2,442 PPPK, Regent Warns Against Pawning Appointment Decrees
The Karangasem Regency Government has extended the working period for 2,442 Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK) by five years. The thousands of PPPK within the Karangasem Regency Government consist of 271 teachers, 126 health workers, and 2,045 technical personnel. Karangasem Regent I Gusti Putu Parwata (Gus Par) personally handed over the decree extending the working period for the thousands of PPPK at the Karangasem Public Service Mall on Wednesday (24/6/2026). Gus Par reminded the PPPK not to pawn their decrees for online gambling. “I also want to emphasise to all PPPK here, after this five-year extension, do not rush to pawn your decrees,” said Gus Par while giving directions to the Karangasem Regency Government PPPK. According to Gus Par, the five-year working period extension should serve as a spur for the PPPK to work more diligently. He also asked department heads to help supervise and remind their employees not to fall into negative activities. “This contract extension must be interpreted as a form of trust from the regional government to all of you to continue providing the best service to the community,” he added. Gus Par then invited all PPPK whose contract durations were extended to become apparatuses who are adaptive to the times. He also encouraged the PPPK to be open to innovation and capable of presenting various new ideas to improve the quality of public services. “As government employees, you must have innovation for development and always maintain discipline. Because discipline is the key to the success of regional development,” he concluded.
