Kaops: Two KKB Members from Yamue Battalion Arrested in Yahukimo's Dekai

Jayapura (ANTARA) - The Damai Cartenz Operations Commander, Inspector General of Police Faizal Rahmadani, stated that two KKB members from the Yamue Battalion, under the Yahukimo Sector XVI, were arrested by a joint team comprising personnel from the Damai Cartenz Operations Task Force and the Yahukimo Police Resort. The two KKB members arrested in Dekai, Yahukimo Regency, on Friday (1/5) were YH (25) and MS alias BS (23). “The examination being conducted by investigators is still ongoing to uncover their involvement in several actions,” said the Damai Cartenz Operations Commander, Inspector General of Police Faizal Rahmadani, in Jayapura on Monday. Faizal explained that YH admitted before investigators that he was not an active member of the group but had once helped deliver logistics to a KKB member with the initials AH. Meanwhile, MS admitted to joining the KKB Yamue Battalion since the end of 2024 and being involved in the group’s activities in the Yahukimo area, namely the murder of a miner with the initials SH on 7 April 2025. “Investigators have designated MS alias BS as a suspect under Article 459 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 20 Letter C of the Criminal Code, subsidiarily Article 458 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 20 Letter C of the Criminal Code, with threats of the death penalty or life imprisonment or a maximum of 20 years’ imprisonment,” said the Damai Cartenz Task Force Operations Commander, Inspector General of Police Faizal Rahmadani.
