Kaops: Joint team discovers cannabis plantation during patrol in Pegubin
Jayapura (ANTARA) - The Head of Operations for Damai Cartenz, Inspector General of Police Faizal Rahmadani, stated that a joint TNI-Polri team discovered a cannabis plantation in two different locations in Pegunungan Bintang Regency, Papua Pegunungan. “The cannabis plantations found during the patrol are located in Kampung Yunabol, Oksibil District, and Kampung Siminbuk, Serambakon District,” said Faizal Rahmadani in Jayapura on Monday. From the reports received, he explained, the patrol conducted by the Damai Cartenz Operations Task Force, the Pegunungan Bintang Police Resort, and the Yonif 751/VJS Task Force, consisting of 29 personnel, discovered the cannabis plantations on Saturday (11/4). Faizal explained that the joint patrol targeted areas identified as having potential security risks, while also monitoring the security situation. He stated that the cannabis plants found in both villages numbered 226 stalks, and two individuals, LU (57) and GU alias K (27), were secured. “The two individuals secured are still witnesses; along with the evidence, they have been handed over to the Pegunungan Bintang Police Resort for further legal processing,” he said. He added that the joint patrol is part of efforts to enforce the law against illegal activities in the Papua region. “This disclosure demonstrates the security apparatus’s efforts in addressing activities that could disrupt security and impact society,” said Inspector General of Police Faizal Rahmadani.
