Kang Soer Art Studio Hosts Painting Exhibition and Market, Klaten Regent Expresses Appreciation
The Klaten Regency Government in Central Java is committed to continuously advancing national culture through strategic policies encompassing the protection, development, utilisation, and nurturing of arts and culture.
This was stated by Regent Hamenag Wajar Ismoyo, represented by Acting Regional Secretary Jaka Purwanto, at the opening of the painting exhibition and market by Kang Soer Art Studio in Gedaren, Jatinom, Klaten, on Sunday afternoon (29/3).
Efforts to continuously develop and preserve national arts and culture, including painting, align with Law No. 5 of 2017 on the Promotion of Culture.
The Klaten Regency Government has also issued Regional Regulation (Perda) No. 2 of 2024 on the Preservation of Javanese Language and Culture, and Perda No. 13 of 2019 on the Promotion of Regional Arts.
“With this legal basis, we are committed to advancing, developing, and preserving Indonesia’s national arts and culture,” stated the Regent in a written speech read by the Acting Regional Secretary of Klaten.
On behalf of himself, his family, and the local government, the Regent of Klaten expressed the highest appreciation to the Chairman of Kang Soer Studio, Soerjono, for organising the painting exhibition and market at his studio.
It should be understood that painters are extraordinary individuals. Through their imagination, they can produce amazing works of painting, such as those exhibited by the artists at this art studio.
The existence of Kang Soer Art Studio in Gedaren, Jatinom, which regularly holds painting exhibitions and markets, and provides training to local children to learn painting, is also commendable.
“On this occasion, we hope that in time, Kang Soer Art Studio will produce skilled painters capable of creating great and phenomenal works of art,” stated the Regent of Klaten.
Meanwhile, Soerjono, the organiser of the exhibition and painting market at his studio, explained that the exhibited paintings are works by artists from Yogyakarta, Solo, Karanganyar, Sukoharjo, Boyolali, Salatiga, and Klaten.
“The painting exhibition and market, held from 29 March to 5 April 2026, is in commemoration of the 13th anniversary of Kang Soer Art Studio,” he said.
