Kang DS: Viking Majalaya Football Supporters' Social Action Becomes Inspiration for Community
BANDUNG — A spirit of solidarity and social concern was demonstrated by the Viking Blue Line Majalaya football supporters’ community through the distribution of aid to orphans and elderly residents on Ciwalengke Street, Sukamaju Village, Majalaya District, on Sunday, 15 March 2026.
The social activity, undertaken during the sacred month of Ramadan, evidenced that supporters’ communities are not only united when backing their beloved team at the stadium, but also possess a strong concern for social conditions within their surrounding communities.
Bandung Regent Dadang Supriatna expressed appreciation for the positive initiative undertaken by Viking Blue Line Majalaya. According to him, this act of sharing demonstrates that football supporters’ communities are capable of becoming part of a social force that provides genuine benefit to the public.
“This is an excellent example. Supporters’ communities are not only present in the stands to back their team, but also present amongst the community to share and help their neighbours,” said Bandung Regent, commonly known as Kang DS, in a statement on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.
He regarded the activity as reflecting a spirit of mutual cooperation and togetherness that has long been an important value in community life across Bandung Regency.
According to Kang DS, the sacred month of Ramadan represents a most opportune moment to reinforce the value of social concern, strengthen bonds of brotherhood, and nurture a spirit of sharing with others, particularly those in need.
“Ramadan is a month full of blessings. We must seize this opportunity to strengthen our sense of empathy and social concern. What Viking Blue Line Majalaya has done should serve as inspiration for other communities,” he stated.
Kang DS expressed hope that such positive activities continue and inspire various communities, civil organisations, and youth across Bandung Regency to participate in diverse social actions with positive impact on society.
He also affirmed that the active participation of society and communities represents one of the important forces in building a harmonious social life and strengthening the spirit of togetherness in Bandung Regency.
“I hope this spirit of sharing continues to spread and encourages more parties to do good. Through togetherness and social concern, we can continue to realise an increasingly developed Bandung Regency,” he concluded.
Through such activities, it is hoped that synergy between government, communities, and society can continue to develop in creating an environment that is more caring, inclusive, and filled with a spirit of mutual cooperation.
