Bandung Regent Dadang Supriatna (Kang DS) emphasised the importance of life balance for Civil Servants (ASN) through four main pillars: physical, spiritual, social, and financial health. He conveyed this message during the ASN Spiritual Guidance event on Monday (6/4/2026) at the Moh. Toha Building in Soreang.

According to Kang DS, physical health is not only determined by bodily condition but is also influenced by a decent living environment. He highlighted the ongoing issue of substandard housing that impacts community health quality, so the local government, together with various parties, continues to promote housing improvements as well as enhanced access to clean water and environmental sanitation.

“Substandard housing greatly affects health. Therefore, we continue to push for rutilahu improvements so that the community can live in a healthy and decent environment,” said Kang DS.

As an effort to address this, this year Bandung Regency is targeted to receive aid for 3,000 decent housing units from the central government, the RI DPR, and DPRD, as well as around 4,730 units from the local government. This programme is expected to improve community quality of life while supporting environmental health.

Kang DS also linked physical health to environmental care, including waste management which must become a shared culture, both in government and community settings.

On the spiritual aspect, Kang DS stressed the importance of maintaining a clean heart. He described spiritual guidance as a means to self-improvement to avoid negative attitudes that can affect ASN behaviour and performance.

“If our hearts are clean, then our behaviour will also be good. This is important in building ASN integrity,” he said.

Kang DS emphasised social health through increased empathy towards others, especially after undergoing the month of Ramadan. He urged ASN to be more concerned about the surrounding environment and ensure no community members are neglected.

“Don’t let there be neighbours in difficulty while there are ASN around. We must be present and caring,” he said.

Meanwhile, on the financial aspect, Kang DS encouraged ASN to achieve economic independence through productive businesses that do not interfere with their primary duties. This step is seen as supporting food security programmes while improving welfare.

Kang DS also affirmed the local government’s commitment to enhancing educator welfare, including pushing for the upgrade of part-time PPPK teachers to full-time status.

Through this event, Kang DS hopes that ASN in Bandung Regency can maintain balance in life, thereby performing their duties optimally and providing the best service to the community.
