Kang Asmul Appreciates Bandung Residents' Spirit of Mutual Cooperation in the Cau Asak Programme
Bandung City DPRD Chairman Asep Mulyadi handed over an Umrah package to the Satlinmas officer of Caringin Ward, Bandung Kulon Subdistrict, on Monday (11/5/2026). This Umrah package was the result of contributions from residents through the Cau Asak programme (Caringin Angkat Umrah Angkat Sadaya Karena Allah).
The programme, which has been running for the past five years, routinely sends underprivileged residents to the Holy Land, particularly public service officers such as Satlinmas and Gober. This year, the opportunity to perform Umrah was given to Pak Darno, a Satlinmas officer in Caringin Ward who has been dedicated since 2005.
Asep Mulyadi, or Kang Asmul, appreciated the initiative of the Caringin residents in maintaining the spirit of mutual cooperation and social care through the programme. According to him, people with surplus sustenance can help others through tangible contributions.
“This is a good programme because it is built on the spirit of collaboration and mutual cooperation among residents to provide benefits for those in need,” said Kang Asmul on Monday (11/5/2026).
He assessed that the selection of Pak Darno is a form of appreciation for his dedication and service to the community over the years. Kang Asmul stated that the contributions of environmental officers like Satlinmas often play an important role in maintaining cleanliness, security, and resident services.
Nevertheless, he reminded that the management of contribution funds should be carried out transparently and accountably. According to him, good financial recording is important so that social programmes like Cau Asak continue to gain public trust.
Kang Asmul advised Pak Darno to prepare well for the Umrah departure and to make the most of this opportunity. “This is certainly a special joy. Many people want to perform Umrah, and this is an opportunity that must be appreciated,” he said.
In addition to symbolically handing over the Umrah package, Kang Asmul also witnessed the installation of RT and RW chairmen in the Caringin Ward environment. He asked the newly installed neighbourhood leaders to serve the community and maintain resident harmony through deliberation and togetherness.
According to him, RT and RW chairmen must be present among the people and be able to resolve various community issues wisely. “If public service is carried out well, then trust and the spirit of mutual cooperation among residents will also increase,” said Kang Asmul.
