Kampung Rambutan Terminal's Efforts to Provide a Child-Friendly Eid Exodus
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of Kampung Rambutan Terminal, Revi Zulkarnain, stated that his team has undertaken several efforts to provide a child-friendly and comfortable Eid exodus season for children.
“We have carried out several initiatives, some of which involve cooperation with relevant ministries or institutions, such as providing lactation rooms and distributing free reading books to child passengers,” Revi told ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday.
Revi explained that in the middle of the waiting area, the terminal management has provided two rooms in the health booth, namely a room for health checks and a special room for babies.
In the baby room, breastfeeding mothers can comfortably feed their children while sitting on the provided sofas.
The room is also equipped with a diaper changing area, a table for placing items, a sink, and air conditioning, which is expected to increase comfort for mothers and children.
For older children, Kampung Rambutan Terminal has collaborated with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education to provide a variety of reading books that can be taken home for free.
Some of the books provided discuss the beauty of tourism in Indonesia, children’s stories, to bad behaviours that should not be imitated. All of them can be requested from the staff at the information desk.
Meanwhile, in partnership with the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI), the terminal has introduced various entertainments such as storytelling and fun games that can prevent children from feeling bored while waiting for the bus.
On that occasion, Revi urged passengers travelling with families or children to ensure that all family members who will be travelling by bus are in good health.
“I’m afraid the children might get lost or separated, making it difficult for parents to find them,” he said.
In addition, Kampung Rambutan Terminal has today deployed 105 personnel, consisting of a combination of TNI/Polri members to transportation department ramp check officers.
