Kampung Rambutan Terminal to add waiting seats to anticipate surge in passengers
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Kampung Rambutan Terminal will add passenger waiting seats to anticipate the surge of travellers departing during the peak of the 2026 Lebaran exodus flow. Head of Kampung Rambutan Terminal Revi Zulkarnain explained that during the Lebaran transportation period, there is a build-up of passengers, so they plan to add extra seating in the waiting area. “Later, we may add more seating, we will strive so that everyone can get a seat. We are also creating an additional waiting area, but we will ensure that the seating for passengers can be increased further,” said Revi to reporters on Wednesday. “So perhaps because of the euphoria of wanting to go home for Lebaran to celebrate Eid, they should arrive at 9 o’clock for example, but they arrive at 5 or 6 in the morning, so it looks like a build-up even though the intercity interprovincial buses have their departure times,” he stated. Revi explained that currently, the Kampung Rambutan Terminal management is preparing tents as an additional waiting area. They plan to increase the passenger waiting area capacity by adding hundreds of seats. “The favourite destinations for returnees remain the same, including Surabaya, Malang, then Purwokerto, Pekalongan, Tegal, Cilacap, Yogyakarta. For West Java, Tasikmalaya, Garut, Cianjur, and for Sumatra, Padang and Palembang,” said Revi. As many as 125-150 buses will be dispatched from the terminal located in East Jakarta on H-3 Lebaran 2026, today. Kampung Rambutan Terminal is also preparing additional bus units to meet the increase in the number of returnees.
