Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal management in East Jakarta has prepared a dedicated rest area for bus drivers to support smooth flow of homecoming and return travel during Lebaran 2026. For preparations for Lebaran homecoming in 2026 at Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal, we are preparing everything, such as preparing rest space for drivers during the Lebaran period, said Terminal Chief Revi Zulkarnain when contacted in Jakarta on Friday. The rest area is a facility to keep drivers in prime condition while ferrying passengers home. Additionally, the rest area is part of safety improvement during the homecoming period which often sees a surge in passengers. Thus, drivers are ensured to rest fully so their condition is fit before driving the vehicles again, Revi added. According to him, the rest area has capacity to accommodate dozens of drivers alternating during the operational period of mudik. For the capacity of the drivers’ rest space, it can reach around 40 to 50 people, Revi said. Inside the rest area, the terminal operator also provides supporting facilities so drivers can rest comfortably. We have prepared beds, carpets, a coffee dispenser, a television and fans to ensure drivers can rest comfortably, Revi explained. Revi hopes that with these facilities, drivers can utilise the time to rest optimally so they can drive buses again in prime body condition. This is also expected to improve journey safety for homebound travellers using bus transport from Kampung Rambutan Terminal. I hope that with these facilities, the homecoming and return journeys of passengers are safe, ensuring safety, Revi. He further urged drivers not to push themselves to drive when fatigued, especially during the busy Lebaran period. With these preparations, Kampung Rambutan Terminal is optimistic about providing better service for homebound travellers while ensuring safety remains the top priority during Lebaran 2026 mudik.
