Flooding that inundated eight RW in Ciracas sub-district, East Jakarta, on Saturday, 21 March 2026, also submerged the Kampung Rambutan Terminal area, which was still crowded with Eid travellers. The floodwaters from the Cipinang River overflow were observed to persist into Sunday morning, temporarily disrupting the flow of holiday traffic.

Kampung Rambutan Terminal Manager Revi Zulkarnain stated that the flooding occurred on Saturday night around 10:00 p.m. WIB. The water entering the terminal area came from the overflow of the Cipinang River following heavy rainfall in the region.

“The water height reached about 10 to 20 centimetres due to the heavy rain and river overflow,” said Revi Zulkarnain, as quoted by Antara on Sunday.

Although the terminal area was temporarily flooded, he assured that operations of intercity and inter-provincial (AKAP) buses for the Eid exodus, as well as other public transport services, were not disrupted.

“There is pooling water, but it does not interfere with bus operations. Buses are still operating as usual, and the water conditions are now starting to recede,” Revi said, adding that buses and Transjakarta services were proceeding normally without significant interruptions.

Revi added that the pooling conditions were still safe for large vehicles such as buses entering and exiting the terminal. “Buses continue to serve passengers without any trip cancellations due to the flooding,” he stated.

According to him, terminal staff are continuously monitoring field conditions to anticipate possible follow-up flooding, especially if heavy rain returns.

As the water recedes, passenger activities at the terminal are gradually returning to normal.

Nevertheless, the management continues to advise transport users to remain vigilant regarding weather conditions and potential flooding at various points, particularly in areas traversed by river flows.

It was previously reported that flooding submerged nine RW in Ciracas sub-district, East Jakarta, on Saturday night, 21 March 2026, or the first day of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. The flooding was triggered by heavy rain causing the Cipinang River to overflow.

As a result of the flooding, East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency (Gulkarmat) personnel evacuated vulnerable residents, from infants to pregnant women.
