The Kampar Kiri Police have confirmed the seizure of three units of rafts used for illegal gold mining (PETI). The owners are currently under investigation and are suspected to be residents of Kota Lama Village, though they were not present at the location during the operation, according to Kampar Police Chief AKBP Boby Putra Ramadhan S on Friday (5/6/2026).

Kampar Kiri Police Chief Kompol R Zuhri Siregar explained that the enforcement action took place on Thursday (4/6) at approximately 2:00 PM WIB. The operation was led by the Intelligence and Operations Unit of the Kampar Kiri Police, involving seven personnel.

Zuhri stated that the three illegal gold mining rafts were found tied to timber along the riverbank and were not in operation at the time. Following the discovery, the rafts were secured and transported to the Kampar Kiri Police Station.

In addition to the rafts, the authorities seized one Pro-Quip brand engine, two ZS Power brand engines, various mining equipment, and a small boat equipped with a Robin engine used to support mining activities. The seized evidence was transported to the station using a Colt Diesel truck. The Police Chief emphasised that raids will continue to ensure that no further unauthorised gold mining activities take place.
