PT Tracon Industri has reinforced its role in developing Indonesia’s national energy infrastructure after successfully completing a strategic geothermal production well piping project in Kamojang, West Java. The project, located within the operational area of PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE), was completed two months ahead of the set target.

The project forms part of efforts to support the optimal utilisation of geothermal energy as a clean and low-emission stable energy source. Through this infrastructure development, steam distribution to power generation facilities can operate more efficiently, supporting renewable energy-based electricity supply in Indonesia.

Wartono, Director of Operations and Business at PT Tracon Industri, stated that the successful completion of the project demonstrates the company’s commitment to strengthening national green energy.

“We are committed to supporting energy transition through precise project execution. This success is also evidence of strong synergy among all parties to collectively drive the acceleration of Indonesia’s Net Zero Emission targets,” he said in a statement received on Monday (16 March).

Technically, the project encompassed the construction of new pipeline routes connecting production well KMJ-19/5 to Mainline PL-405 and well KMJ-30/3 to Mainline PL-403 in the Kamojang Geothermal Field area. The scope of work included detailed engineering design, material procurement, field construction, commissioning and SKPP (Equipment Fitness for Use Certificate) certification. The project also involved more than 30 technical experts in piping and energy construction.

The piping route was designed using engineering standards with the Pipe Stress Analysis method, enabling it to transport steam at a Maximum Continuous Rate capacity of up to 150 tonnes per hour.

I Made Budi Kesuma Adi Putra, General Manager of Kamojang Area at PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk, appreciated Tracon Industri’s performance in completing the project.

“From an economic perspective, accelerating project completion certainly provides direct positive impact on PGE Kamojang Area operations and reduces potential Loss Production Opportunity,” he said.

According to Wartono, the project’s success was inseparable from the implementation of strict quality and workplace safety standards throughout execution.

“All work stages were carried out through careful planning with the development of comprehensive HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) Plans, Quality Plans and detailed work procedures. This has become our culture and way of working to ensure every task is carried out in accordance with regulations, with the best safety and quality standards,” he explained.

With support from competent human resources, a solid track record of project execution and commitment to safety, quality and integrity principles, PT Tracon Industri reaffirmed its commitment to continue playing a role in supporting the development of sustainable energy industry in Indonesia.

The project was not only administratively supported but also closely monitored to ensure environmental protection and local community welfare remained top priorities.

Geothermal energy managed by PGE is considered capable of maintaining the reliability of the electricity system whilst supporting increased renewable energy mixed capacity nationwide.
