Several artworks by inmates at Klungkung Class IIB Detention Centre were exhibited at the World Congress on Probation and Parole, held from 14-17 April at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua. This prestigious forum was attended by delegates from 37 countries.

Among the exhibited artworks, the traditional Kamasan wayang painting particularly caught the attention of international delegates.

Head of Klungkung Detention Centre, Alviantino Riski Satrio, explained that the forum was not merely an international conference but a global showcase for modern correctional innovations.

“Including exhibitions of creative works by inmates from various countries,” Alviantino clarified to detikBali on Thursday (16/4/2026).

Furthermore, Alviantino stated that the presence of these works affirms that rehabilitation in Indonesia not only focuses on recovery but also produces high-cultural-value products ready to compete in the global market.

“Participation in this event is proof that inmates can produce high-quality works that are not only aesthetically valuable but also competitive in the international market. This is the result of consistent and sustainable guidance,” he elaborated.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections, Decky Nurmansyah, conveyed that participation in the international forum reflects Indonesia’s transformation in corrections towards global standards.

“Inmate products are not just symbols of creativity but also representations of successful social reintegration and real contributions to the global creative economy,” Nurmansyah explained.
