Kaltim Prosecutor's Office Seizes Rp214 Billion from Transmigration Land Corruption Case
Samarinda (ANTARA) - The East Kalimantan High Prosecutor’s Office has saved state finances amounting to Rp214,283,871,000 seized from a case of alleged corruption in the utilisation of state-owned assets in the Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions Development, and Transmigration. “The recovery of these assets is related to mining activities carried out by PT JMB Group on transmigration land located in Kutai Kartanegara Regency,” said the Head of the Legal Information Section of the East Kalimantan High Prosecutor’s Office, Toni Yuswanto, in Samarinda on Thursday. In addition to cash in Indonesian rupiah, the East Kalimantan High Prosecutor’s Office also secured piles of cash in various foreign currencies. Some of these include 103,025 US dollars, 11,909 Singapore dollars, 4,280 Australian dollars, as well as amounts in euros, ringgit, and Korean won. “This investigation is based on the Investigation Order issued by the Head of the East Kalimantan High Prosecutor’s Office since 19 January 2026,” Toni stated. To date, the investigating prosecutors have named and detained six suspects consisting of individuals from the private sector and state officials. The seizure was carried out in accordance with the provisions of Article 118 of Law Number 20 of 2025 on the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP) for the purposes of proof in court. Not only cash, the Adhyaksa Corps team also seized dozens of luxury items in the form of branded bags from various world-renowned manufacturers. Recorded are 13 Chanel bags, six Louis Vuitton bags, as well as collections from Hermes, Gucci brands, and gold jewellery that were also secured. Investigators also seized four luxury vehicles as evidence, namely Hyundai Ioniq 6, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Lexus LX 570, and Hyundai Creta. All evidence items are now under the control of the prosecutor’s office to clarify the criminal acts that occurred in the transmigration land case. “This effort to save state finances is one of the High Prosecutor’s Office’s initiatives in eradicating corruption in the East Kalimantan region,” said Toni.
