The head of Kalisari ward, Siti Nurhasanah, has been temporarily suspended as a result of the handling of an illegal parking complaint that was responded to with an AI-edited image. The temporary suspension process is ongoing while awaiting the results of the examination by the Inspectorate.

“Yes (the Kalisari ward head has been suspended), it’s in process. Later at the Inspectorate,” said Jakarta East Mayor Munjirin in Pulogadung, East Jakarta, quoted by Antara on Tuesday (7/4/2026).

Munjirin explained that the decision was taken as part of efforts to maintain the integrity of public services, particularly in app-based reporting. Munjirin has not yet confirmed how long the suspension of the Kalisari ward head will last.

“For how long she will be suspended, we’ll see the results of the Inspectorate’s examination,” Munjirin said.

In addition to the ward head, the handling of the PPSU officer involved in the upload is being processed. Munjirin stated that follow-up actions against the PPSU will be carried out based on the same examination results.

“The PPSU process will come from the ward head, based on the Inspectorate’s examination results, whatever they are, we will follow up,” Munjirin said.

In this case, the PPSU has been given an initial sanction in the form of a First Warning Letter (SP) as part of disciplinary guidance. The East Jakarta City Government has emphasised that it will firmly address any violations.

Separately, Kalisari ward head Siti confirmed that she has been temporarily suspended from her position today. Siti does not yet know until when she will be suspended from her position.

“Yes, sir (it’s true I’ve been suspended). I don’t know yet how the developments will be,” Siti said.

Pramono Requests Search for Creator and Uploader of AI Photo

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that the PPSU cannot be entirely blamed. He has asked the DKI Inspectorate to thoroughly investigate the case.

“The Inspectorate is conducting an in-depth investigation into the Kalisari ward head, the PPSU, and the district office. Everything will certainly be uncovered in due time,” Pramono said at Jakarta City Hall.

Pramono assessed that it is not appropriate to directly attribute the fault to the PPSU officer. Because, they are considered not to be the party that created or manipulated the photo.

“If we then blame the PPSU as well, we can’t. The PPSU is definitely not the one who did or manipulated the AI,” he said.

Pramono emphasised that the main focus of the investigation is to uncover who created the AI image and who uploaded it to the system.

“What I’ve asked to be investigated in depth is to find out who did the AI, and then who uploaded it,” he stressed.
