Jakarta (ANTARA) - Kalisari Ward Head Siti Nurhasanah has been temporarily suspended as a result of a case involving Public Infrastructure and Facilities Handling (PPSU) officers uploading artificial intelligence (AI)-generated photos in a report on handling illegal parking via the Jakarta Kini (JAKI) app.

“Yes (Kalisari Ward Head has been suspended), it’s in process. Later at the Inspectorate,” said East Jakarta Mayor Munjirin in Pulogadung, East Jakarta, on Tuesday.

The temporary suspension process is awaiting the results of an examination from the Inspectorate.

Munjirin explained that the decision was taken as part of efforts to maintain the integrity of public services, particularly in app-based reporting that serves as a public complaint channel.

Nevertheless, Munjirin could not yet confirm how long the suspension would last.

He emphasised that all decisions would depend on the results of the ongoing examination by the Inspectorate.

In addition to the ward head, action against the involved Public Infrastructure and Facilities Handling (PPSU) officers in the upload is also being processed.

Munjirin stated that follow-up on the PPSU would be carried out based on the same examination results.

“The PPSU process will come from their ward head, based on the Inspectorate’s examination results, whatever they are, we will follow up,” said Munjirin.

Currently, the relevant PPSU officer has been given an initial sanction in the form of a First Warning Letter (SP) as part of disciplinary guidance.

The East Jakarta City Government has reaffirmed its commitment to firmly addressing every violation, especially those related to transparency and accuracy in public service reports.

In the future, the East Jakarta City Government will also tighten supervision of the use of the JAKI app to ensure that every report submitted truly matches the actual conditions in the field and can be held accountable.

Meanwhile, Kalisari Ward Head Siti Nurhasanah confirmed that she had been temporarily suspended from her position today.

“Yes, sir (it’s true I’m suspended),” Siti said briefly when contacted separately.

Siti does not yet know until when she will be suspended from her position as Kalisari Ward Head, Pasar Rebo Subdistrict, East Jakarta.

“I don’t know yet how the developments will be,” said Siti.

In the upload, the PPSU officer wearing an orange uniform was seen handling the location.

However, after an AI-based process, the visual appearance of the officer underwent changes, including differences in clothing attributes and the disappearance of several vehicles in the processed image.

The stark differences between the actual conditions and the AI visualisation were what triggered strong public reactions.

Internet users (netizens) viewed the action as a form of data manipulation and not reflective of the actual field conditions.
