Kalisari Sub-District Head and Two Officials Involved in JAKI Complaint Handling Irregularity Responded with AI
The Jakarta Inspectorate states that the Kalisari Sub-District Head and two other officials in that East Jakarta area were involved in deviations in handling citizen complaints related to an AI-generated imitation photo upload on the JAKI application.
The Inspectorate recommends deactivating the Kalisari Sub-District Head and providing guidance to the involved staff.
The two other officials are the Head of the Government Section and the Head of the Economy and Development Section. They are recommended to receive disciplinary sanctions and guidance.
However, the roles of these two section heads have not yet been revealed.
Jakarta Provincial Inspector Dhany Sukma explained that the examination was conducted systematically, referring to government internal audit standards to uncover facts and determine necessary follow-up actions.
“The Jakarta Provincial Inspectorate has completed the examination of alleged deviations in handling public complaints at Kalisari Sub-District. The results of this examination form the basis for corrective actions and strengthened oversight, so that public complaint handling runs more orderly, accountably, and in accordance with regulations,” Dhany said in a statement on Tuesday (7/4).
Based on the examination results, the Inspectorate has also imposed sanctions in accordance with the general contract terms on three PPSU officers proven to be involved.
“This step is part of the bureaucratic reform championed by Governor Pramono Anung,” he revealed.
“We will continue to strengthen oversight, increase accountability, and ensure that every public complaint is handled honestly, quickly, and accountably. This is not just about sanctions, but also about comprehensive system improvements to prevent similar incidents from recurring,” he added.
Previously, Kalisari Sub-District Head Siti Nurhasanah was temporarily deactivated due to the case of handling a wild parking report responded with an AI-edited result. The temporary deactivation process is pending the Inspectorate’s examination results.
“Yes (Kalisari Sub-District Head is deactivated), it’s in process. Later at the Inspectorate,” said East Jakarta Mayor Munjirin in Pulogadung, East Jakarta, quoted from Antara.
Munjirin explained that the decision was taken as part of efforts to maintain the integrity of public services, especially in app-based reporting. Munjirin has not confirmed how long the deactivation period for the Kalisari Sub-District Head will last.
