Kalimantan Interconnection Gradually Recovers, PLN Ensures Power Supply Returns to Normal
PT PLN (Persero) has confirmed that the Kalimantan Interconnection System has gradually recovered, allowing the electricity supply to customers in East and North Kalimantan (Kaltimra) to return to normal. This condition was achieved after repair work on generating units that had previously experienced disruptions was successfully completed and the electricity system is now increasingly stable.
General Manager of PT PLN (Persero) Distribution Main Unit (UID) Kaltimra, Muchamad Chaliq Fadli, stated on Sunday (12/7) that along with the recovery, the load management previously implemented on a limited basis has been halted, so the community’s electricity needs can now be fully met again. PLN continues to oversee the electricity condition to ensure optimal service to customers.
“Alhamdulillah, the condition of the Kalimantan Interconnection System has now gradually recovered. The load management carried out as a measure to maintain system stability is no longer in effect,” he said.
Nevertheless, he continued, PLN is still conducting intensive monitoring and continuing to refine the handling of the generating units that previously experienced disruptions as a preventive measure to strengthen the system’s resilience in serving the community’s electricity needs.
PLN, he added, urges customers who are still experiencing electricity problems in their respective locations to report them immediately via the PLN Mobile application. Every report received will be promptly followed up by officers so that the handling process can be carried out quickly and precisely.
PLN also expressed appreciation to all customers, local governments, authorities, working partners, and all stakeholders for their understanding, support, and cooperation during the recovery process.
“We thank you for the trust, patience, and support of all customers and stakeholders during the system recovery process. This support is a motivation for all PLN personnel to continue improving service quality and delivering reliable electricity to the community,” added Chaliq.
He said PLN will continue to strengthen the Kalimantan Interconnection System through continuous monitoring of electricity conditions, optimisation of generation operations, and increased preparedness of personnel in the field.
“This step is part of PLN’s commitment to providing safe, reliable, and sustainable electricity services to support community activities, public services, the business world, and economic growth in Kalimantan, especially Kaltimra,” he concluded.
