Kalimalang Water Tourism Project Road Closures Cause Traffic Congestion as Dishub Implements Contraflow

The curved bridge construction project in the Kalimalang water tourism area has caused traffic congestion on KH Noer Ali Road, South Bekasi District, Bekasi City, West Java, heading towards East Jakarta. Traffic congestion frequently occurs during peak morning and evening hours. This is due to partial road closures required for bridge construction work. Consequently, partial to full road closures are necessary at certain points. ‘Indeed, the construction work causes traffic jams. The full closure is necessary due to limited workspace, hence the road must be shut,’ said Idi during an interview at Bekasi City Hall Plaza on Monday, 25 May 2026. ‘Once the structure or abutments are installed, road closures should no longer be necessary,’ he added. Nevertheless, Dishub has coordinated traffic management with relevant authorities to maintain vehicle flow. He explained that the curved bridge construction is part of the Kalimalang water tourism area redevelopment, which plans to include five bridges. ‘Five curved bridges are planned. The first has already been completed using CSR funds,’ Idi said. ‘Currently, two more bridges are under construction,’ he added. Idi aims to complete the second bridge by August 2026, with the third expected to be finished between September and October 2026.
