Kaligawe Pantura Road widening project in Semarang accelerated ahead of Lebaran homecoming

Semarang, Central Java — Workers are compacting material using heavy equipment in the Kaligawe Raya Pantura road elevation project in Semarang, Central Java, on Saturday 7 March 2026. The Balai Besar Pelaksanaan Jalan Nasional (BBPJN) Jateng-DIY of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing is expediting the national road elevation project from KM 3+900 to KM 4+600 on the main Pantura Semarang–Surabaya corridor, with the target that the roadway will be ready to function by 11 March 2026 as an effort to prevent seasonal flooding and to facilitate the Lebaran 1447 Hijriah mudik traffic.
