Kakorlantas Polri Irjen Agus Suryonugroho conducted a route survey in Bali to ensure readiness of security for the mudik flow during Lebaran through Operation Ketupat, as well as security for Hari Raya Nyepi. He also inspected the readiness of the Kemala Run 2026. Irjen Agus said the checks were necessary because Lebaran and Nyepi are close in time, requiring thorough traffic coordination. ‘Saat ini kami berada di Bali dalam rangka survei kesiapan Operasi Ketupat, sekaligus memastikan pengamanan Hari Raya Nyepi. Lebaran dan Nyepi waktunya sangat dekat, tetapi kami sudah bertemu dengan Pak Gubernur dan semuanya sudah clear,’ he said on Friday (6 March 2026). He explained that traffic management, particularly regarding the closure of routes to Ketapang Port and Gilimanuk Port, had been discussed with the regional government to ensure there are no obstacles. ‘Jadi tidak ada masalah, karena penutupan yang menuju Ketapang dan Gilimanuk sudah tidak ada kendala,’ he said. In addition to ensuring readiness of Operation Ketupat and Nyepi security, Kakorlantas also directly inspected the readiness of Kemala Run 2026 to be held in Bali. According to him, most preparations for the event are almost complete. ‘Kami juga mengecek kesiapan panitia Kemala Run. Secara umum hampir semuanya sudah clear, hanya ada satu jembatan yang mungkin harus disambungkan,’ he explained. He added that the Road Agency had conducted direct checks on the condition of the bridge. This had also been conveyed to the Governor of Bali to be recommended for repair. ‘Hari ini kami cek langsung dengan Balai Jalan. Pak Gubernur juga sudah melihat langsung dan mudah-mudahan dalam waktu cepat jembatan itu bisa disambungkan sehingga pelaksanaan Kemala Run yang sudah disiapkan bisa berjalan lebih baik,’ he said. At the same location, Deni Agus Suryo, Chairman of the Kemala Run Committee, said Kemala Run 2026 would be held on 19 April 2026 at the Bali United Training Center, Gianyar, Bali. The running event carries the theme ‘Charity for Indonesia’ with half marathon, 10-kilometre, and 5-kilometre categories, targeting around 10,000 participants. Deni Agus Suryo applauded the support from various parties helping readiness of the event. He hopes all preparations, including bridging, can be completed on time. The bridge is important as it links the area around Bali United Training Center with the route to the start. ‘This bridge will connect the Bali United Training Center area with the route that participants will use to reach the start. This is a very good gesture to ensure Kemala Run can run smoothly,’ he said. Deni also hopes for support and prayers from various parties so that the sporting event can be carried out well. ‘We ask for prayers so that all activities can run smoothly,’ he said. Representing the Road Agency, Andre Sahatua Sirait emphasised that his agency is ready to support the Kemala Run to run smoothly. ‘In essence, we from the Road Agency are ready to support the Kemala Run. Regarding the use of the under-bridge structure, we will coordinate with the River Agency so that Kemala Run can be conducted well,’ he said. (hri/zap)
