Kakorlantas Polri Urges Safe National Logistics Transformation
Irjen Agus regards the approach to the Over Dimension and Overload issue as not solely about law enforcement, but about weighing various other aspects related to public life and the business world. ‘We do not prioritise enforcement, because Over Dimension and Overload involves more than just enforcement. There are economic aspects, fiscal aspects, and a safety-focused transformation, among others,’ said Irjen Agus on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. Irjen Agus said the Korps Lalu Lintas Polri (Korlantas) will continue to collaborate with various parties, including Aptrindo, and hopes for support from all parties to realise safety and create a safe and friendly logistics transport transformation. ‘Korlantas Polri will collaborate with anyone, including our friends at Aptrindo. We ask for support because whatever we do is for safety. Including also how we can create this safe and friendly logistics transformation,’ Kakorlantas Polri said. Furthermore, he stressed that national logistics transformation efforts must be realised soon to reduce the high rate of road traffic accidents in Indonesia. ‘We are not dismantling the effects of Over Dimension and Overload, but it is time we realise a safe transformation, a safe and friendly logistics transformation,’ he clarified. Irjen Pol. Drs. Agus Suryonugroho S.H., M.Hum, revealed that throughout 2025 the number of road traffic accidents in Indonesia remained very high, with fatalities reaching tens of thousands. ‘This is more important, because I recall that in 2025, accident events were almost 152,000. Including fatalities, the death toll was almost around 25,000,’ said Kakorlantas Polri. Therefore, Kakorlantas Polri invited all parties to jointly support steps toward Indonesia free from Over Dimension and Overload through data integration, education, and measurable law enforcement. ‘Let us together formulate toward an Indonesia free from Over Dimension and Overload, the blueprint of which is being implemented well from upstream to downstream, and in principle we are ready to enforce the law. The sequence of data integration activities, the efforts of the Ministry and education have been carried out,’ he concluded. (rdp/hri)
