KaisarTV has reported alleged criminal offences under the Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE) Law and copyright infringement by Ecohome Indonesia to the Metro Jaya Regional Police. The report concerns the unauthorised use of KaisarTV content snippets for the commercial interests of Ecohome Indonesia.

The report was officially registered via Report Receipt Document (STPL) Number STTLP/B/4105/VI/202<0xA0>6/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA on 8 June 2026. The Editor-in-Chief of KaisarTV, Abdul Gafur, stated that the report was filed after discovering that clips from KaisarTV podcasts were being used without permission by Ecohome Indonesia across Instagram, TikTok, Threads, and YouTube Shorts.

In the uploaded content, Ecohome Indonesia allegedly utilised clips from KaisarTV productions as part of their promotional and marketing materials. Gafur noted that such actions potentially harm media companies that invest heavily in the production process, including research, idea development, production, and distribution.

“KaisarTV was built with hard work, team dedication, time, energy, significant costs, and resources, as well as the trust of millions of young Indonesian viewers. Our content is not an asset that can be taken arbitrarily for the commercial interests of others without permission. Therefore, the unauthorised use of content for commercial purposes is a serious matter that cannot be taken lightly,” Gafur said in a written statement on Tuesday (9/6/2026).

The report pertains to alleged violations of Article 48 of the ITE Law in conjunction with Article 32 and/or Article 9, paragraph (1), paragraph (3), and Article 113, paragraph (3) of Law Number 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright. Gafur expressed hope that this legal process would demonstrate a commitment to protecting the creative ecosystem, intellectual property rights, and education to ensure creative works are respected.

KaisarTV’s lawyer, Army Mulyanto, stated that copyright protection is a vital component in maintaining the climate of the creative industry, providing legal certainty for industry players. “We respect the ongoing legal process. The report has been received by the Metro Jaya Regional Police and is being followed up according to applicable legal procedures. It is hoped that this case can serve as an important reminder of the importance of respecting copyright and intellectual property in the digital era,” said Army.

Background of the Case

On 29 November 2024, KaisarTV published an episode of the K-PODS podcast titled ‘Sleepy After Eating? High Blood Sugar Alarm and Diabetes Risk! dr Hans Kristian #KPODS’ on the KaisarTV YouTube channel. The episode was produced by the KaisarTV team using their own budget, crew, and studio facilities.

On 24 May 2026, KaisarTV discovered that the official Instagram account @ecohome_indonesia had uploaded content on 24 March 2026 consisting of KaisarTV podcast snippets, distributing them to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Threads to promote air fryer products.

KaisarTV stated they never granted any form of permission to PT Ecohome International Indonesia to use, reproduce, distribute, or modify the content. KaisarTV also confirmed they had sent a legal notice (somasi) via the Rahman, Mulyanto, Huda & Partners Law Office to Ecohome Indonesia on 2 June 2026. The notice demanded the cessation of content use, complete removal, a written apology, and the payment of damages.

On 4 June 2026, PT Ecohome International Indonesia, through its legal counsel, reportedly acknowledged the use of KaisarTV content and issued an apology; however, this was not accompanied by a concrete or proportional settlement proposal. Consequently, KaisarTV proceeded with the police report.
