KAI West Sumatra launches digital platform to ease public investment in railway assets
PT Kereta Api Indonesia’s Regional Division II in West Sumatra has introduced the ‘Space by KAI’ platform to make it easier for the public to invest in the company’s strategic assets. KAI Divre II West Sumatra Head of Public Relations Reza Shahab stated in Padang on Tuesday that this innovative step was deliberately designed to provide convenience for investors, business operators, and business partners wishing to utilise KAI assets throughout the operational region of West Sumatra. He stated that the presence of this platform was a tangible part of KAI’s digital transformation in improving the quality of its business services. Through the official site space.kai.id, the public can now access information regarding various cooperation opportunities for utilising KAI assets more quickly, comprehensively, and transparently. Previously, the publication of information on KAI commercial assets in West Sumatra still used print media, which had limitations in terms of reach, data updates, and information efficiency. Now, through migration to a digital platform, all asset information can be accessed online by prospective investors to identify new business opportunities suitable to public needs. In the Divre II West Sumatra area, KAI offers a variety of potential assets ranging from land, buildings, station business spaces, company housing, to commercial advertising media. He stated that each asset data displayed on the page is already equipped with location details, area size, photographs, descriptions, and the latest availability status for the convenience of prospective partners. The platform is also supported by a digital search feature based on an interactive map with geotagging technology that allows users to ascertain asset coordinate positions accurately and efficiently. Furthermore, direct integration with the company’s internal database ensures that all commercial asset availability information is updated regularly to provide investment certainty. He mentioned that KAI also provides a direct contact feature within the platform to connect prospective investors directly with the KAI asset marketing team to obtain explanations regarding cooperation mechanisms, rental processes, and asset utilisation opportunities according to business needs. In the future, this platform will be connected with Access by KAI, so that asset exposure can reach millions of KAI customers throughout Indonesia. According to him, the next development stage will also present various new features, such as Point of Interest (POI) integration, business recommendations based on asset potential, asset classification by business type, a B2B partner dashboard for contract monitoring and revenue sharing, digital contract extensions, submission of changes to data or rental locations, and a bidding system for potential assets. Furthermore, KAI is also preparing business simulation features, return on investment (ROI) estimates, cost simulations along with payment terms, and integration with financing institutions as a form of support for investment ease and partner business development.
