In line with the rising passenger numbers, KAI is carrying out various facility improvements at a number of LRT Jabodebek stations to maintain safety, comfort and service reliability for the public. LRT Jabodebek Manager of Public Relations Radhitya Mardiana said that facility improvements are an important part of supporting safe and integrated public transport service quality. According to him, safety is the main foundation of public transport services. Therefore, every maintenance programme and facility improvement always prioritises the safety aspect for users and officers. Throughout 2026, KAI has carried out a number of facility improvement works at various LRT Jabodebek stations. These efforts include optimising the lighting system on the Pancoran Station pedestrian bridge (JPO), the entrance area and JPO at Kuningan Station, the JPO and lift area at Rasuna Said Station, as well as adding air conditioning in the concourse area of Dukuh Atas Station. In addition, KAI is also carrying out a lift and escalator rejuvenation programme at a number of stations such as Jatimulya, Bekasi Barat, Jatibening Baru, and Cikunir 1. The work includes replacing various main components to maintain the reliability of facilities used by the public every day. Corrective waterproofing maintenance of roofs is also being carried out at all LRT Jabodebek stations to ensure facilities continue to function optimally in various weather conditions. Radhitya said that the existence of reliable facilities is an important factor in supporting the user travel experience, especially amid the increasing public need for comfortable and integrated public transport. He explained that the average number of daily users on weekdays has also increased from around 98,000 users in the January-May 2025 period to around 120,000 users in the same period this year. According to him, this increase shows the growing role of LRT Jabodebek in supporting community mobility in the Greater Jakarta area. LRT Jabodebek is part of an urban transport ecosystem that is connected to various other transport modes. Therefore, facility improvements are continuously carried out so that users can change modes more safely, comfortably and smoothly.
